The indie rock legends from the USA are celebrating 40 years together and embarking on a world tour.
And they’ll make a stop here with a gig at the Alhambra on Thursday May 21 next year.
The Pixies were formed in Boston in 1986 by Black Francis, Joey Santiago, Kim Deal and David Lovering.
They’ve made 10 studio albums, including Surfer Rosa, Doolittle, Bossanova and Trompe le Monde, and released songs such as Here Comes Your Man, Debaser, The Sad Punk, Monkey Gone to Heaven, Hey, Where Is My Mind?, Dig For Fire and U-Mass.
Their most recent album is last year’s The Night the Zombies Came.
The tour starts in Japan in November and goes on to Australia, New Zealand and Hawaii before arriving on these shores.
In the UK the Pixies will also play in York, Manchester and London before gigs in Limerick, Dublin and dates in Germany, Italy and the Netherlands.
Tickets for the Alhambra gig will go on sale at 10am on Friday.
