Emma Navarro was unable to get Team USA over the line in the Billie Jean King Cup over the weekend as Italy won for a second year running.

Jasmine Paolini was the star player during the final, leaving Navarro and compatriot Jessica Pegula stunned.

Going into the tournament, Andy Roddick had noticed a difference in Navarro, but for whatever reason, she was unable to bring her A-game to the court in Shenzhen.

Navarro shared what went wrong in the final after losing, and now, as the dust settles, she’s taking time out to send a message to her fan base.

Navarro lost in round three to Barbora Krejcikova and, as a result, she’s now slipped outside the top 10 of the world and sits in 11th place.

The 24-year-old is completely focused, however, on next year, and she can’t wait to compete for the Billie Jean King Cup once again.

Navarro posted on Instagram: “Nothing beats dressing up in the red, white and blue. It was a pleasure to share a week with Team USA for the Billie Jean King Cup. We’ll be back for the trophy.”

Navarro needs to get back on track in 2026

For a player boasting such quality to only reach one Grand Slam quarterfinal in 2025 simply isn’t good enough.

Navarro was dumped out of the French Open without winning a game and also lost before the second week at Wimbledon and the US Open.

As a result, there is a bit of soul-searching for Navarro to do as she looks to get back into the top eight of the world, where she sat as recently as 12 months ago.

Navarro has some time on her side, but now all of her focus must be placed on getting some results before the end of the year to try and kick-start 2026 with a bang.
