Detectives have launched an investigation after a man approached a schoolgirl and reportedly asked her to get in his van.
The teenager was approached by a ‘man in a van’ in Jiggins Lane, near The Cock pub in Bartley Green, shortly after the school bell rang on Wednesday, September 24.
Officers were supporting the pupil after she was said to have been “shaken” by the ordeal.

Parents of children at Bartley Green School said they were sent text messages yesterday alerting them to the incident.
The message from the Adams Hill school, shared online and seen by BirminghamLive, said: “We have been made aware of an incident which happened last night outside The Cock pub.
“A pupil was approached by a person driving a white van and asked to get into the van.
“The pupil is shaken, but OK. This incident has been reported to the police.
“We will be speaking to pupils about their personal safety when in the community.”
We have reached out to the school for comment and have asked West Midlands Police if this incident was possibly linked to a similar case in Church View, Sparkbrook, over the weekend.
That incident saw a man in a van attempt to snatch a nine-year-old boy from the street, near Walford Road. Luckily the youngster managed to escape.
The force has already confirmed to BirminghamLive that the Church View abduction attempt was not linked to another attempt on a schoolgirl near Erdington’s Faulkners Farm Drive ten days prior.
Speaking on the Jiggins Lane incident, a force spokesperson told us: “We’re investigating after a teenage girl reported that a man in a van approached her on Jiggins Lane, Bartley Green, at around 3.30pm on Wednesday, September 24.
“Officers have spoken with her and are offering her support as enquiries continue.
“Local officers will be in the area to provide extra reassurance patrols.
“CCTV and doorbell footage is being retrieved and reviewed.
“We’d ask anyone who’s not yet spoken with us to get in contact by calling 101 or to message us on our website, quoting log 3465 of September 24.”
