NYRA unveils new Belmont Park logo ahead of 2026 reopening

  • October 1, 2025

Saratoga Springs, NY (WRGB) — The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) has revealed the official logo for the new Belmont Park, set to open in September 2026 following a comprehensive redevelopment. The logo, inspired by the iconic Japanese White Pine, symbolizes the evolution of Belmont Park while honoring its rich history in thoroughbred racing. The updated design features a modern typography and a refreshed color palette, maintaining the visual elements associated with Belmont Park.

Belmont Park, with a 120-year history, has seen each era marked by a distinct logo. The original debuted in 1905, and a new logo was introduced in 1968, incorporating the Japanese White Pine for the first time. The latest logo aligns with the ongoing transformation of the facility, aiming to re-establish Belmont Park as a global capital of thoroughbred racing.

The $455 million redevelopment project, a collaboration between New York State and NYRA, includes a 300,000-square-foot, five-story building with flexible hospitality options and modern amenities. The new design reduces the grandstand’s footprint and introduces pedestrian and vehicular tunnels, providing more accessible green space.

Belmont Park will feature four newly constructed racing surfaces, including a traditional 1 1/2-mile dirt main track, two turf courses, and a one-mile Tapeta track for winter racing. The venue will reopen for live racing in September 2026, with the Belmont Stakes returning in 2027. Additionally, Belmont Park will host the 2027 Breeders’ Cup World Championships, the first in New York State since 2005.
