Emmerdale spoilers follow for the latest episode to air on ITV1 and stream on ITVX and YouTube.
Emmerdale has aired another twist in Aaron Dingle and Robert Sugden’s ‘will they, won’t they’ drama, all while a huge secret hangs in the air. Aaron is still reeling after everything that happened with his evil husband John and although he and former flame Robert are still (obviously) the ones for each other — and have given into temptation since Robert’s return — it was decided that they would remain friends until the trauma has been processed enough for them to properly give things another go.
However, in tonight’s episode, it was clear Aaron still wants to get back with Robert right away, which wasn’t helped by his mum Chas.

“Whatever you and Robert want to do, it’s fine with me. You only get to live once,” she said, changing her tune.
The former couple met outside later on and Aaron admitted that Chas gave him her blessing to get back with Robert. But he wasn’t so sure it was a good idea.

“Come on, I thought we said we were gonna take it slow,” Robert said.
Aaron questioned: “Why, though? Why should we have to do that? I know that you think I need time and space to process everything but I don’t.”
“I know what I want, Robert. And it’s you,” he continued. “I want you.”

Aaron suggested they could get back together and still take it slow. He said life was too short for them not to be a couple, mentioning all his loved ones who had died.
Robert caved in and agreed, but asked that they keep it to themselves because he didn’t want people talking.
Of course, what’s really going in is the fact that he got married in prison to man named Kev, who recently told Robert that he’s terminally ill.
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
