Max Verstappen is going through a prosperous period. A particularly brilliant sequence, which only a driver of his caliber can experience. The Batavian’s September was a fairy tale, played without a false note: winner at Monza with a considerable lead, the driver Red Bull sent a strong message to the McLaren before repeating the feat in Baku after another performance. In between? Verstappen was at the Nürburgring to get his GT driving license, the key to taking part in races.
In the meantime, there is no need to worry about it. ”
And after Baku? Back to the Nordschleife, this time for his first race, which he easily won, accompanied by his teammate Chris Lulham. In his Ferrari 296 GT3 In the colors of his team Verstappen.com Racing, the native of Hasselt (Belgium) took control of the race from the first corner and never let go.
“I had a lot of fun, assures number 1. There was a lot of preparation and I had two great days on the Nordschleife. I drove in the wet and the dry and gained experience in traffic. To win after that was a real bonus. I drove the Nordschleife for years on a simulator, so it wasn’t really that different; it felt very natural. My teammate Chris and I really enjoyed it. We’ve won a lot together online before, but for Chris to be in a real car on such a circuit, he did really well. We were just fast.”

Between GT and the F1 title, a busy end to the season for Verstappen
Now back to his main activity as a pilot Formula 1Verstappen, who turned 28 on Tuesday, hopes to quickly return to the Nürburgring to compete in the legendary 24 Hours. “It depends on a lot of things. First, we have to see how things evolve in Formula 1 with the complex rule changes that are coming. Things could get more intense. And everything really needs to align before I can plan to participate. We really want to return to the Nordschleife with Verstappen.com Racing, but at the moment I don’t know how many or which races I’ll be competing in. But if everything falls into place, I’ll be there.”
While waiting to participate, perhaps as early as 2026 when the race does not fall on the same dates as a Grand Prix, the Dutchman must concentrate on the end of his season, starting with Singapore, where he has never yet won in Formula 1, unlike the other 23 circuits on the calendar.. “The last two races were on low downforce circuits with little tire degradation. Here in Singapore, the tires suffer a lot more and it’s a high downforce track, Verstappen analyzes. I don’t think it’s really good for our car, but we’ll see. Last year, we finished second, with a big gap to the leader, so I hope we’ll be more competitive. I’m going to give it my all.”
The end of the season promises to be intense in any case for Red Bull and Max Verstappen, who is back in the title fight. The Dutchman, however, remains a good distance from McLaren, especially that ofOscar piastri, leader with a 69-point lead. A fifth crown remains achievable, but to do so, they will need to have a year-end as perfect as September. The main player himself doubts that this is possible. “I don’t really think about the championship, evacuates Verstappen. The gap is big, so I’m taking it one race at a time. If the car is good enough, I can win. It’s as simple as that. If we can’t win, that’s it. I don’t really worry about those things.”
His fellow drivers have weighed in on his chances of winning the title, and like him, most believe it’s a near-impossible mission. But with Max Verstappen, nothing is impossible…
