At the heart of the peloton in Baku, Charles Leclerc et Lewis Hamilton failed to convert the hopes generated on Friday. Well on their way to scoring big points, the two drivers Ferrari ultimately delivered a lackluster performance, relatively close to what they have unfortunately been accustomed to achieving in 2025 in F1, not allowing them to fly away in the face of Mercedes, Red Bull, or McLaren.
According to Charles Leclerc, Singapore does not, however, appear to be El Dorado for the Scuderia. “I don’t think we can expect miracles. In Baku, I don’t think we weren’t competitive. We didn’t do a great job in qualifying and we weren’t able to put everything together and get a lap in Q3, obviously, but I don’t think we can expect to be more competitive here, he analyzed this ThursdayI think the situation should be similar in Baku. I feel like McLaren will have even more of an advantage on a circuit like this, so we might be a little further behind them. However, compared to our main rivals, which are Mercedes, we should be in a better position if it’s warm, which I think it will be.
While Red Bull could find itself further behind at the Singapore GP – Max Verstappen has never won on this track in his career, for example – McLaren is expected to be the leading force on the grid. However, like the surprise pole positions recently secured by the Dutchman, or that achieved by Charles Leclerc in Hungary, the Monegasque admitted that it was not entirely impossible.

Ferrari, the second force on the grid?
“Well, I hope the same thing happens! But in Hungary, it’s a session that I still have trouble understanding, he ponderedThere were gaps of seven tenths between Q1, Q2 and Q3, and no one really understood that session. It was nice to be on pole position in such a difficult session, but I don’t expect the conditions to be the same this weekend. It’s unlikely, but I’ll do everything I can to replicate that. It would be great, but it’s unlikely.”
Quick to explain his vision regarding the balance of power, Charles Leclerc does not see Lando Norris ou Oscar piastri fail, as was the case in Azerbaijan. However, Ferrari’s duel is elsewhere. “I think we’re in a very different situation than we were last year. However, to sum it up in the simplest way possible, I feel like Mercedes performs very well when it’s cold, and we seem to perform better when it’s warm. Looking ahead to the next races, I hope it’s as warm as possible so we have an advantage. I think that’s what’s going to tip the scales one way or the other, more than any other feature of the track. That’s where we are, and we’ll see how it goes. But this weekend should be hot, and we need to take this opportunity to close the gap to them.”
This Singapore GP weekend, Ferrari’s challenge will be to finally realize the hopes they displayed at the start of the race. Just like Charles Leclerc’s first place in FP1, the Scuderia must manage not to fall again between now and Sunday.
