Birmingham City latest transfer news as Huddersfield Town look set to sign their second Blues player this weekBirmingham City midfielder Marc Leonard
Huddersfield Town are looking to continue their raid of Birmingham City with their second Blues signing in a matter of days.
The League One outfit managed to prise away forward Alfie May after just one season at St Andrews earlier this week.
Now, The Terriers look all but set to sign midfield maestro Marc Leonard, who himself has also only enjoyed a brief spell in the West Midlands after arriving from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion last summer.
The 23-year-old, who has represented Scotland from U17 to U21 level, still has three years left on his current contract with Transfermarkt estimating his transfer value at £650k.
But according to Sky Sports, Huddersfield are exploring both permanent and loan options for the central midfielder.
Leonard was in and out under Chris Davies last season, playing 47 games across all competitions and notching five assists as Blues won the League One title and promotion back to the Sky Bet Championship.

If he does complete a transfer he could join May at the John Smith’s Stadium, who has left for pastures new one year on from his move from Charlton Athletic.
The striker scored 17 goals in an impressive 57 appearances, becoming a fan favourite at the Blues.
Speaking on the signing, Huddersfield’s new manager and former goalkeeper Lee Grant said on the club’s website: “Alfie is a natural goalscorer with a formidable record in recent years, so we’re really pleased to bring him into the group ahead of the new season kicking off.
“He has a strong mentality, an infectious personality and is full of belief, and those are the hallmarks of all successful strikers.
“His skillset is different to what we already have in the squad and he compliments the players that he’ll be featuring alongside well, so we look forward to having the opportunity to get straight down to work with him this week.
“Alfie is another player we’ve introduced to the squad this summer that knows what’s required to be successful at the right end of this division, and that experience will be invaluable across the course of the season.”
Outgoings are a priority for Birmingham City who have already announced a number of signings as they hope to go back-to-back promotions and end their 14-year absence from the Premier League.
Kyogo Furuhashi, Taylor Gardner-Hickman, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Demarai Gray, Phil Neumann, Alfons Sampsted, Tommy Doyle (loan), and James Beadle (loan) have all arrived at the club so far this summer.
