The Formula 1 star resides in a £9.2m mansion with his Spice Girl wife in the Northamptonshire village of Marston Saint Lawrence, near Banbury.

Mr Horner was relieved of his Red Bull team principal role last month after 20 years of service, seeing him pocket a reported £80 million payout in the process.

The 51-year-old had been team principal at Red Bull since 2005, overseeing eight drivers’ world championships and six constructors’ titles.

It has now been revealed by Aston Martin CEO and team principal Andy Cowell that the team have no intention of signing Mr Horner, who remains a free agent.

In Singapore, during a press conference, Mr Cowell revealed conversations between him and Aston Martin owner Lawrence Stroll had taken place on the matter.

But, despite this, he insisted that there are unequivocally “no plans” for Mr Horner to take on either an operational or investment role within the Aston Martin team.

The 56-year-old said: “I can clearly say there are no plans for involvement of Christian either in an operational or investment role in the future.”

After his departure from Red Bull was confirmed, 51-year-old Mr Horner said it had been “an honour and a privilege”.

He added: “I’m incredibly proud of what we achieved as a team, breaking records and reaching heights no one would ever believe were possible, and I will forever carry that with me.

“However, for me, my biggest satisfaction has been assembling and leading the most amazing group of talented and driven individuals and seeing them flourish.”
