Lando celebrated the title on his in-lap, after classifying in third place for his 14th podium of the season, and revelled in the achievement.

“Another title is just a great thing – another Constructors’ Championship,” Lando said in the post-race press conference. “It feels the same as in 2024. To get the title last year was quite an achievement, if you look at where we were three years ago.

“We’ve outdone every team in terms of development, and in a time where it’s almost harder to do than ever with more restrictions – the budget cap, less wind tunnel time – it should be more difficult to dominate, but that’s what the team has done and they’ve given us by a long way the best car on the grid – it’s a nice thing to say, and always puts a smile on your face. We’ve done well, Oscar and I have been pushing each other, you don’t see that at any other team.”

Lando joined the McLaren family in 2017, before stepping up to a race seat in 2019, and has spent his entire career with the team.

“I’ve been with McLaren since I started. It was a very different time and place from where we are now, so that journey makes it more special,” he reflected. “To know the downs, to see the rise we’ve had, the teamwork, and the changes. The leadership from Zak and Andrea has turned things around and made us, as a team, the best in the world – and that’s not a thing many people get to say.”
