Former principal of the TTD-run Sri Padmavati Women’s (SPW) College, Kamala Menon Cochran, released her book ‘One last time… Revisiting those delightful years’ under the aegis of Mrs. M. Jayalakshmi Foundation and in the presence of her old students here on Sunday.

A compilation of memoirs of former students, the book is actually the second to be written by Ms. Menon and her former colleague E. Hemavathi on the college. With more than 1,000 girl students, more than 100 lecturers and about 700 hostelites several decades back, the college used to buzz with academic activity, recalled Ms. Menon.

While the first work ‘Decisive decades’ focussed on the academic fraternity, this book rounded up the uncovered areas in the college, including the contribution of the office staff (non-teaching members) on the administrative side. The alumni settled across the globe also contributed in the form of anecdotes on several things related to the college.

The book also captured noteworthy glimpses in the form of rare photographs pertaining to annual events, visits of dignitaries to the college, and scores of awards received by its students.
