Jason Cundy had the same reaction as most Chelsea fans after their stoppage time winner against Liverpool, footage has revealed.

The former Blues defender was on commentary duty for the club’s media channels at Stamford Bridge on Saturday… and he lost all composure immediately after the winning goal.

Cundy was unable to contain himself on the gantry and his passionate celebration saw him lose his microphone during wild scenes in west London.

The two sides had appeared destined for a draw before substitute Estevao scored in the fifth minute of stoppage time – the Brazilian’s first goal for the club since arriving from Palmeiras in the summer.

Chelsea have now released footage from the gantry showing the commentary team’s reaction to the goal.

However, it is impossible to look beyond Cundy’s wild response as he bounced up and down in delight.

After almost knocking over commentator Ben Andrews, the 55-year-old can be seen waving his arms in the air.

His headset then slips off as he continues to jump across the gantry.

In the process, though, Cundy also drops his microphone before falling back onto his chair.

Having composed himself, he hilariously realises his microphone has disconnected.

Despite scrambling in an attempt to find it, he was forced to borrow his fellow commentator’s mic in order to react to the goal.

Cundy exclaimed: “I’ve lost my headphones, I’ve lost my mic. Estevao far stick, unbelievable stuff.

“Liverpool, I said earlier, the kings this season of scoring late, last-second winners…”

The drama in the commentary box was not over there as Cundy then raced down the steps to continue his search for the missing microphone.

He could then be heard shouting: “I don’t know where it’s gone.”

Cundy began his playing career with Chelsea after coming through the club’s academy.

Prior to moving to Tottenham in 1992, he made 53 first-team appearances for the club, scoring twice from centre-back.

Estevao’s late winner secured a third league victory of the season for the Club World Cup winners.

It leaves the Blues seventh in the table heading into the international break, although they are only three points adrift of the top four.
