A baby, who was critically ill, has tragically passed away. The infant was rushed to hospital in a critical state after emergency services were called to a property in Eston on Sunday, 5th October.
The baby was fighting for life in Newcastle’s RVI hospital but Cleveland Police have now confirmed the sad news the baby has died.
Bradley Thomas, aged 22, was brought before the court on Tuesday, 7th October, charged with section 18 grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent.
Thomas, from Grasmere Road, Redcar, did not enter a plea during his brief appearance at Teesside Magistrates’ Court. He was remanded in custody and is due to appear next at Teesside Crown Court on Wednesday, 5th November.
A spokesperson for the force expressed their condolences today, stating: “Our thoughts are with the family of the baby during this very difficult time.”, reports Teesside Live.
