CARDIFF SIGN TWO: Rigg and Roberts Arrive on Loan
Cardiff Rugby have bolstered their midfield by signing Will Rigg (from Exeter Chiefs) and Osian Roberts (from Sale Sharks) on short-term loan deals.
The moves come as injuries to Mason Grady, Harri Millard, Rory Jennings, and Elijah Evans have left the squad short of centre options. Both Rigg and Roberts will provide valuable depth as Cardiff navigate a demanding early-season fixture list.
BATLEY SIGNS: Lock Commits Future to Bristol Bears
Bristol lock Joe Batley has signed a new contract, extending his stay in Bear Country.
Since rejoining from Worcester Warriors in 2022, the 29-year-old has made 77 appearances and was a standout performer in the 2024/25 Gallagher Premiership Team of the Season.
Batley, who has also featured in England A and senior training squads, continues to be a central figure in Bristol’s pack under Pat Lam.
MANU RETURNS? Tuilagi Linked with Leicester Comeback
Former England centre Manu Tuilagi has made a strong impression in France’s Top 14 since joining Bayonne in 2024.
However, speculation is mounting that Tuilagi could return to Leicester Tigers, where he might reunite with former teammate Geoff Parling, now the club’s head coach.
Such a move would not only delight Tigers fans but could also pave the way for an England recall, with Steve Borthwick reportedly still an admirer of Tuilagi’s power and experience.
NEW CONTENDER? Chandler Cunningham-South in deman
Gloucester are understood to be the latest Gallagher Premiership club to express interest in England star Chandler Cunningham-South, who is entering the final year of his contract with Harlequins.
The Sidcup-born forward, 22, has been one of Quins’ standout young performers, capable of slotting in at both lock and back row — a versatility that’s made him a hot commodity ahead of next season.
According to RugbyPass, Sale Sharks were the first to make a move for Cunningham-South, and now the Cherry and Whites are believed to be keen to open talks of their own.
Quins remain eager to keep hold of their rising star beyond this season, but with multiple Premiership rivals circling, a transfer battle could be on the cards.
