Travellers are facing delays after a major motorway was closed near Stansted Airport following a multi-car crash.

The M11 was closed southbound between Junction 10 at Royston and Junction 8 for Stansted.

Traffic has been diverted via another route, with huge tailbacks delaying holidaymakers.

Congestion is reported to be easing, however delays remain and traffic is still thought to be moving slowly.

Drivers are advised to avoid the stretch and take alternative routes where possible.
