Super League fans heading to tonight’s Grand Final had their preparations put to a halt, after an incident on the M62 left them at a standstill.

The M62 is a staple of many rugby league away days, with fans from the majority of teams often needing to use it across the season.

Today, Hull KR fans in particular will be travelling across the Pennines as they head to watch their team compete in their second Grand Final in two years.

However, an incident on the motorway has seen traffic at a standstill, with some fans reporting they had not moved for around an hour.

A road traffic collision outside Huddersfield was the cause of the delays, and vehicles were being held from J24 A649 to J23 A640, per YorkshireLive.

However, the incident has now been resolved and the motorway is back running as normal. Highways Yorkshire posted on X at 4:26pm that all lanes were back open and there were no further delays.

All lanes are now open on the #M62 westbound between J24 #Halifax and J23 #Huddersfield
