And he’s promised to give it his all in front of some famous names in order to bring yet another trophy back to Inverclyde.
He told the Tele: “It’s an absolute honour to have been selected to fight for the first ever WBC Muay Thai convention.
“It’s never happened before, so it’s history in the making.
“There are only 40 people selected in the world, so it’s huge for me. The biggest stage I’ve ever fought.
“There are so many famous boxers there who’ll be attending. I’ll put on the performance of my life and bring that trophy back to Scotland!

“It’s a four-man tournament and I have tough countries in my section, in the form of fighters from Thailand, Australia and Suriname.
“I missed out on fighting for my ISKA British because my weight has increased.
“One of the tricky things about being a junior fighter is that you physically grow and then weigh more.
“These things happen but the silver lining was the day after I was supposed to fight for the ISKA title, I got an e-mail from Kevin Noone, general secretary of WBC, inviting me to fight in Thailand at the convention in my new higher weight bracket.
“I guess you could say that everything happens for a reason.
“I’m so grateful to Kevin and the WBC for giving me this amazing opportunity.
“I can’t wait to get back over to Thailand for what will be my third time this year.”

Mikey’s mum, Ashley, couldn’t be prouder of her son’s achievements as he continues to go from strength to strength in the mixed martial arts world.
She believes that Mikey has devoted his life to the craft and the reward of
being called up to represent his country is an honour as he prepares for the first ever convention of its kind.
She added: “Mikey’s had a fantastic year. He’s so committed and trains really hard. Muay Thai is his life.
“He already has three world titles, two European, USA and Welsh titles, as well as a Scottish title, but this convention in Thailand is really special to him.
“Being selected to represent Scotland for WBC is something he’s so honoured to do.
“Every time he steps into that ring on the international stage he has his Scottish flag draped around him with pride.
“He loves bringing the titles home to Scotland.”
