The Red Wall are encouraged to be in their seats early ahead of Cymru’s key World Cup qualifier against Belgium to celebrate current and former players’ achievements for the National Team.
Shortly after 7pm, Chris Mepham, Kieffer Moore and Neco Williams will be presented their 50th caps by former Cymru international and EURO 2016 semi-finalist Sam Vokes.
Mepham and Moore reached the landmark in last month’s World Cup qualifier against Kazakhstan in Wembley, whilst Neco Williams reached the achievement in last week’s match against England. 24 year old Williams is the third youngest Cymru player to reach the achievement.
At half time Wayne Hennessey’s career will be celebrated in a presentation with his childhood hero and former Cymru goalkeeper Neville Southall. Hennessey represented his country in goal 109 times, playing in two UEFA European Championships and the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Hennessey announced his playing retirement earlier this year having made his debut against New Zealand in May 2007.
The match is a key fixture in Cymru’s campaign to reach next summer’s FIFA World Cup finals in north America, and the Red Wall will play a key part in creating another special atmosphere at the Cardiff City Stadium.
For those attending the match (KO 7:45pm Monday 13 October), the full supporter information is available here.
