Korea Quantum Computing (CEO Kim Jun-young, hereinafter referred to as KQC), a company specializing in quantum computing and AI infrastructure, announced on the 23rd that it has signed a strategic partnership with Canada-based Crypto4A Technologies Inc. (hereinafter referred to as Crypto4A), a quantum-resistant hardware security solution company, and will begin commercializing security solutions based on post-quantum cryptography (PQC).

The purpose of this collaboration is to jointly develop quantum-resistant cryptography technology that can resolve security vulnerabilities in current cryptographic systems (RSA, ECC, etc.) in preparation for the era of quantum computing, and to build products and infrastructure targeting the global security market based on this. Through this partnership, KQC plans to commercialize the PQC-HSM (Hardware Security Module) platform for the first time in Korea.

CryptopoE is a quantum security company headquartered in Ottawa that develops and operates ‘QxHSM™’, a next-generation HSM platform equipped with a PQC-based hybrid encryption algorithm. This platform is designed to defend against security threats resulting from the computational power of quantum computing and has technological capabilities that meet global security standards.

KQC will jointly develop KpqC (Korea post-quantum Cryptography), a Korean quantum-resistant encryption technology based on QxHSM, and will also pursue acquisition of major certifications such as the domestic security certification system (KCMVP) and the international common evaluation (CC, Common Criteria). Through this, the plan is to establish a quantum-resistant-based security infrastructure at an early stage in high-security environments such as finance, public, and industrial control.

The main contents of this strategic cooperation are ▲development of integrated technology between international standard PQC and Korean KpqC ▲securing a global certification base ▲establishing an Asian quantum security hub centered on Korea and expanding the market.

Bruno Couillard, CEO of CryptopoE, said, “Korea has a high level of infrastructure and market readiness for the introduction and expansion of quantum security technology,” and added, “This partnership goes beyond simple technology transfer and is the starting point for creating a security ecosystem to prepare for quantum threats.”

KQC Chairman Kwon Ji-hoon said, “We expect the cooperation between the two companies to create synergy across technologies, markets, and certification systems,” and “Through this cooperation, we will strengthen our competitiveness in the PQC-HSM and quantum security technology fields not only in Korea but also in the Asian region.”
