The second day of main-draw action in Brussels features a mix of rising talents and steady tour regulars, each looking to build momentum on the indoor hard courts. With players at different stages of their seasons and contrasting styles on display, several of these encounters could swing on fine margins rather than rankings or form alone. As always, we here at LWOT will be offering our predictions for every match on the schedule. But who will advance?

ATP Brussels Day 2 Predictions
Eliot Spizzirri vs Pedro Martinez

Head-to-Head: first meeting

Spizzirri has been enjoying a solid run of form at Challenger level, translating his college success into steady results on the pro tour. He came through his opening match with confidence and will look to keep imposing with his aggressive baseline play. Martinez, however, has struggled to find consistency on hard courts in recent months, with most of his success still coming on clay. Their first meeting could be tighter than expected if Spizzirri maintains his composure in the key moments.

Prediction: Spizzirri in 2

Valentin Royer vs Sebastian Baez

Head-to-Head: first meeting

Royer got into the main draw as a lucky loser after falling in the final round of qualifying, and he’ll be eager to make the most of his second chance. The young Frenchman has shown promise, particularly with his ability to redirect pace on quicker surfaces. Baez, meanwhile, has made strides off clay this season, picking up confidence-building wins on hard courts. Both rely on rhythm and consistency, but whoever settles first could dictate how long this one lasts.

Prediction: Baez in 3

Joao Fonseca vs Botic van de Zandschulp

Head-to-Head: Fonseca 1–0 van de Zandschulp

Fonseca opted to skip the Asian swing completely after helping Brazil secure Davis Cup wins over Greece and Italy last month. He’ll be stepping back into competition for the first time here, hoping to rediscover the sharpness that’s defined his breakout year. Van de Zandschulp, meanwhile, has been rediscovering rhythm after a stop-start season, with flashes of his best form returning in recent weeks. This first-time meeting could be closer than it looks, especially if Fonseca finds his range early.

Prediction: Fonseca in 2
