Widnes Vikings are pleased to reveal our newest addition ahead of the 2026 season, as Kieran Taylor arrives at the DCBL Stadium from North Wales Crusaders on a two-year deal.
Taylor, 25, joined the Welsh club ahead of the 2023 season, having made great strides in the amateur game for Orrell St James.
He operates primarily as a centre or second-row and has made 66 appearances for Crusaders over the past three seasons, scoring 18 tries.
On signing for the club, Taylor said: “I’m absolutely buzzing to be here. I’m really looking forward to making the step up and seeing what I can bring to the team.
“My game thrives on hard work and the tough stuff. I’m hoping to show that and prove Allan signed me for the right reason.
“I’m really looking forward to working with Allan. I feel I can learn a lot from him and Woody to take my game to another level.”
Taylor enjoyed a successful campaign in 2025 for North Wales, making 21 appearances and scoring five tries as they picked up the League One title.
Head Coach Allan Coleman commented: “It’s fantastic to get Kieran on board. He’s a player we wanted to get in last year, but just couldn’t quite get it over the line. So, a big thank you to the club and the board for helping get it done this time around.
“He ticks the boxes for what we’re after. He’s strong, powerful, and quick. He’s at that age we identified, where we can have him in the team for a few years and he can develop with us.”
Welcome to the Vikings, Kieran. We can’t wait to cheer you and the rest of the team on next year!
Signings like this are assisted by the fantastic Widnes VIPS scheme in place to assist in strengthening the Vikings’ squad. If fans wish to sign up for the scheme, they can do so here.
