Battlefield 6 Demolishes Series Records, Sells Over 7 Million Copies in First Three Days 1

As was perhaps expected, Battlefield 6 has been a barnstorming success.

Following a huge pre-launch push from publisher EA, the first-person shooter has broken records for the franchise, including the biggest opening weekend in the series’ history.

Most notably, Battlefield 6 has sold over 7 million copies in its first three days on sale.

Furthermore, it has already set a series record for the most concurrent players, and during its opening weekend, achieved over 172 million multiplayer matches and more than 15 million hours watched on streaming services.

The game comprises a single player campaign, a robust suite of multiplayer modes, and Portal, a mode in which players can create and share custom maps and match types.

We’ve already seen and heard evidence that the game has been doing very well for itself, and now we know for certain that it’s a big hit.

“First and foremost we want to thank our players,” says Byron Beede, General Manager of Battlefield, in a press release. “Battlefield 6 was built with our fans. From the initial concept through to the implementation of Battlefield Labs and into the record-shattering Open Beta we have been obsessed with player feedback. Together, with our players we’ve had a singular goal: to craft the best Battlefield ever. And this is just the beginning – our first season of new content is just 12 days away.”

Executive Vice President Vince Zampella also shares his thanks and teases the game’s first post-launch update. “We never take moments like this for granted, so I want to express our sincere gratitude to our global Battlefield Studios and passionate community that has helped get us to this point,” he says. “We appreciate you joining us for Battlefield 6’s momentous launch. We have so much more to come in the weeks ahead.”

Season 1 gets underway on 28th October, bringing with it a new map, Blackwell Fields, and a new 4v4 mode named Rogue Ops.
