Liverpool chief executive Billy Hogan has provided insight into the club’s plans for the summer transfer window – as rumours of a potential move for Alexander Isak begin to ramp up. The Reds are currently in Hong Kong for the first leg of their pre-season tour of Asia.
Seven new signings have already been made by Liverpool this summer following the arrival of Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt in a deal worth up to £79million. Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Armin Pecsi and Freddie Woodman have also been added to Arne Slot’s squad this summer.
This summer has seen Liverpool go on a spending spree close to £300million, and there is the potential for more new additions to come. Isak is a player of interest to the Reds, and the Daily Mail reported on Thursday that the striker has informed Newcastle of his wish to leave St James’ Park this summer.

Amid the speculation, Hogan has spoken about the club’s ongoing transfer plans and preparations for the season ahead.
“It doesn’t just happen; it’s been years in the making,” said Hogan in an interview with The Athletic.
“One of the things we’re constantly focused on is that ‘virtuous circle’. Trying to run the club in the right way to ensure that we can generate as much revenue as we possibly can.
“That obviously helps in terms of being able to put more back into the team, which is incredibly important from our perspective.
“We have been successful in doing that. It’s a huge credit to everyone on the football side and the business side, working together every single day to ensure we got to that point.
“We also recognise, having won the English league title for the 20th time, that this is one of the biggest clubs in the world. We want to make sure that we are behaving like one.
“Having massive global stars come and play at Anfield, filling out stadiums in Hong Kong and Japan, those are things we expect and want to do. We have a huge fanbase around the world who crave success, and we’re working as hard as we can to win more trophies.”
