The UK has delivered more than 85,000 unmanned aircraft systems (UASs) to Ukraine over the past six months, UK Secretary of State for Defence John Healey announced before a meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group (UDCG) in Brussels on 15 October.

This figure includes tens of thousands of short-range first-person view (FPV) unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), according to a 15 October UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) press release.

In June 2025, the United Kingdom announced it was planning to supply Ukraine with 100,000 UAVs by the end of April 2026. At that time, tens of thousands of UAVs were already said to have been delivered as part of the UK’s GBP350 million (USD470.01 million) investment into unmanned systems for Ukraine. Many of the UAVs built in the UK include FPVs for precision attacks, interceptor UAVs for air defence, and new fibre-optic UAVs.

In September 2025, the UK and Ukraine signed an industrial partnership and announced their first joint project, called Octopus, as per a 10 September UK MoD press release. Through this partnership, the UK is jointly developing an interceptor UAV, which has already been used in Ukraine. The Octopus interceptor is being produced in the UK with newly implemented data from the Ukrainian battlefield, according to the release. The target is to provide thousands of improved interceptor UAVs for Ukraine every month, as per the 15 October release.
