Kochi: The joy of sharing is now extending to the world of book reading as well!
As part of the Manorama Hortus Arts and Cultural Festival, being held at the Subhash Park in Kochi from November 27 to 30, free ‘Hortus Reading Boxes’ have been opened at various locations across the city. Anyone can take a book from these boxes for free, read it and either return it for the next reader or gift a book from their own collection.
Readers are encouraged to leave a brief review or note inside the book when returning it, while taking care to keep the books in good condition. While taking a book out of the Hortus Reading Boxes, participants are urged to add another book to maintain the chain of reading intact. This initiative is a celebration of the love of reading and a movement for nurturing the language. Everyone is encouraged to bring along friends and children to explore these boxes of stories and knowledge.
