Football fans have been blown away by Lee Trundle’s insane physique transformation as the Swansea City legend took part in a charity boxing match against ex-Premier League player Anthony Gardner. The event had the goal of raising £500,000 for life-changing charities and included five bouts throughout the evening of action.
Unfortunately for Trundle, despite training with Wales’ former WBO cruiserweight world champion Enzo Maccarinelli, it was a loss on the night. Opponent Gardner slipped twice, although the commentary team on YouTube were unsure whether the second should have been ruled a knock-down from Trundle, who threw a lovely jab into Gardner’s chin.
Though he started strongly against the former Everton defender, Trundle grew tired and unfortunately lost his sharpness in the second round.
Football funny man Jimmy Bullard even shouted to Trundle during one of the breaks between rounds: “Trundle! You’re better than this. Knock the f*** out of him!”
Despite being under the cosh in the final round and being bombarded by swinging arms, he landed a powerful right hand on Gardner, but in the end, it simply wasn’t enough. The pair embraced afterwards and could be seen smiling ahead of the result being confirmed by the announcer – which was Gardner by unanimous decision. Watch a clip below.
Posting to her Instagram story after the game, Trundle’s partner Sophie wrote: “So proud of you, babe and all the hard work you’ve put in these past weeks! I love you so much.”
Trundle and Gardner were fighting as part of a card which also included former Spurs player David Bentley, who went up against ex-Chelsea star Jody Morris – the latter came out on top.
There were further wins for former Aston Villa defender Curtis Davies, ex-Swansea man Leroy Lita and former Bristol City midfielder Marvin Elliot.
Former Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Paddy Kenny also took part in the event, but was knocked out by Davies in emphatic fashion. Unfortunately for Kenny, he was left needing oxygen after the KO.

Davies was understandably reluctant to celebrate and immediately made a beeline to hug Kenny: “Really pleased, I’ve worked hard for this, it’s bittersweet, I love Paddy to bits, I didn’t want to have to knock him about but that’s what we’re here to do. It’s all for charity, yes, but I enjoyed that win.”
Other than seeing former football stars in the ring, something that caught the attention of viewers was the incredible body transformation of Trundle, who was looking absolutely massive.
In his playing days, Trundle’s physique was typical of a footballer – not a lot of muscle mass, lean and a generally more slender aesthetic. Nowadays, he’s sporting a very muscular look, with impressive traps, thick arms and a chest that any bodybuilder would be proud of. Check out the footage below.

Speaking before the fight, Trundle spoke about why he chose to take on the challenge. “It’s something I’ve always wanted to do,” he told BBC Sport. “So, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to try it.
“It’s harder than what I expected, if I’m being honest – on your arms and your breathing, but Enzo has always asked me to come down the gym. So, I think now I’ve got an excuse to come in and work with him.”
