West Hill in Charminster, near Dorchester, will be closed between its junction with the A352 and its junction with East Hill, a distance of around 210m.
The closure has been requested to allow Wessex Internet engineers to install fibre optic cables.
These works are programmed to commence from Monday, October 27 until Friday, October 31.
Wessex Internet will publicise the road closure in a number of ways including the placement of information boards on the road in this area to inform the travelling public of the works.
They will carry out a letter drop to local residents directly affected by the works and they will sign a vehicular diversion route using the local road network.
A diversion route has been issued to take motorists along the B3142 and Westleaze.
