Former Manchester United star Scott McTominay has issued high praise for a current Red Devil as Ruben Amorim’s side defeated Liverpool in the Premier League.
Goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Harry Maguire were enough to cancel out a Cody Gakpo equaliser and hand Manchester United a famous win at Old Trafford.
Ruben Amorim was bold with his team selection, but it paid off, as Liverpool’s struggles in the Premier League continue after yet another defeat.

United players left Anfield with their heads held high, and one of those players was veteran defender Luke Shaw.
Scott McTominay and Man United stars praise Luke Shaw
Shaw has been criticised this season for some mediocre performances, but he was back to his best against Arne Slot’s men.
His former teammate Scott McTominay noticed this, taking to Instagram to shower the Englishman with praise. “What a player,” he wrote under Shaw’s latest post, which read “Happy Sunday’s.”
Matheus Cunha was also found in the comments section stating, “Love you, you know,” while club captain
Bruno Fernandes opted to call Shaw by his nickname “Shawberto,” referencing the great Brazilian left-back Roberto Carlos.
United beating Liverpool in their own backyard was a historic feat, and the kind of result Amorim so desperately needed to get his season firmly back on track.
Shaw dealt with the Liverpool fans
The mood at Anfield can be a very hostile one, as Shaw knows, with many games under his belt away to the Reds. Because of this, before the fixture he knew how to deal with the pressure.
He told club media: “You really feel it. Of course, not just when you’re in the stadium, but leading into the stadium.
“You go along a one-way road kind of thing and the bus is there, and there are a lot of fans outside. It really is hostile.
“I think as players, you kind of enjoy that moment – you know, it really feels like a big game then.
“It can be very hostile. But I think it’s part and parcel of football, the rivalry.”
Shaw and his United side now face Brighton & Hove Albion, where they’ll be looking to make it three – yes, three – Premier League wins on the bounce.
