Guernsey has been added to the list of distinctive destinations that the new owners of La Barbarie Hotel are expanding into.
The purchase of the St Martin’s Hotel is a part of a “strategic expansion into distinctive destinations across Europe and beyond”, according to a spokesperson for Eight Continents Hotels & Resorts.
Based in the United Kingdom, the group has a collection of hotels already established across Asia, Africa, and throughout Europe.
Whilst announcing the purchase, the company spokesperson stated: “The brand’s Signature Collection embodies refined design, immersive local experiences, and personalised luxury”.
As part of that ethos, it is aiming to enhance the current offering at the hotel.
“This initiative aims to elevate the hotel’s design, service standards, and guest offerings while preserving its historical charm and architectural elegance.
“With this acquisition, Eight Continents continues its strategic expansion into distinctive destinations across Europe and beyond, reinforcing its vision of creating meaningful connections between people, places, and cultures.”
Speaking on the acquisition, Mr Haninder Sachdeva, the CEO of Eight Continents described La Barbarie and Guernsey positively.
“The addition of La Barbarie Hotel to our portfolio is a testament to our dedication to curating unique and memorable stays for our guests.”
He added, “Guernsey, with its rich cultural heritage and natural beauty, provides the perfect backdrop for our brand’s ethos of offering authentic and luxurious experiences.”
