WBC World Flyweight Champion Lourdes Juarez, 39-4 (5) won by a 10-round majority decision over the former WBC World flyweight Champion Yesica Nery Plata (30-3 (3) on Saturday night at the Convention Center, South Padre Island, Texas.

Plata Fights Back in Round Four

In the first round, Juarez dominated. In the fourth round, Plata came back holding her own in a close round.

In the fifth and sixth rounds, Juarez came back outlanding Plata. In the seventh round, it was all action with both going to the body. In the eighth round again, both never let up, with Juarez landing the final punch, a right on the chin of Plata.

In the ninth round, the action continued. In the tenth and final round, both champions showed the crowd how a main event should be

The scores were 95-95, 96-94, and 96-94. Laurence Cole was the referee.

Omar Juarez Dominates Rosario in Co-Main

In the co-main event, light welterweight Omar Juarez (20-2 (7) defeated Omar Rosario (14-3 (4) by a 10-round unanimous decision.

In the first three rounds, Rosario came out with a strong jab, keeping Juarez at bay. In the fourth round, Juarez finally started landing effective punches, taking the round.

In the fifth and sixth rounds, Juarez had strong winning rounds. In the seventh round, referee James Green took a point from Rosario for holding. In the eighth’s final seconds, Rosario was holding on.

In the ninth round, Juarez continued his dominance. In the tenth and final round, referee Green warned Rosario for a low blow for the third time, taking a point away.

The scores were 99-89, 99-89, and 97-91.

Desley Robinson & Ronny Alvarez Score Stoppages

IBF and WBO World middleweight champion Desley Robinson (11-4 (3) stopped Logan Holler Silva (11-4-1 (4) at 1:08 of the second round of a scheduled 10×2 rounds.

In the first round had an effective jab, taking the round. In the second round, Robinson drove Holler into the ropes with a left hook on the chin, with Referee Ellis Johnson giving an 8-count. Robinson went right after Holler, landing a flurry of punches without return when Referee Johnson called a halt.

Super middleweight Ronny Alvarez (5-0 (4) knocked out southpaw Bruno Pola (10-4-1 (9) at 2:28 of the fifth round of a scheduled six rounds.

In the first round, Alvarez, coming back after almost two years out, outlanded Pola. In the second round, Pola came back well in a close round. In the third round, Alvarez drew blood from the nose of Pola.

In the fourth round, Alvarez continued busting up the face of Pola with blood from his nose. He landed half a dozen unanswered punches in the final minute. In the fifth round, Alvarez was landing combinations while Pola would throw an occasional overhand left. Referee James Green saw enough, calling a halt.
