A man from Liverpool has died after being hit by a motorbike in Thailand, according to reports. Barry Kenyon, 84, died on October 18 after the incident on Thappraya Road in Jomtien, Thailand, reports the Pattaya Mail.

The newspaper states he was taken to Pattaya City Hospital but died from his injuries. Mr Kenyon was a contributor to the Pattaya Mail and paying tribute to him, the publication said: “His sharp insight, measured reporting, and commitment to community understanding made him a respected voice in local journalism.”

According to the newspaper, he was born in August 1941 before graduating from the University of Liverpool in 1964. He then earned a PHD in Sociology and Criminology in 1970.

From Liverpool, he worked overseas for the British police before returning to the UK in the 1980s to work in education.

The Pattaya Mail reports he was principal of Skelmersdale College in West Lancashire from 1985 to 1993.

He then joined the British Embassy in Thailand in 1995 and contributed to a number of news outlets in Thailand, as well as running a bridge club, its report said.

The Pattaya Mail adds: “Barry had no living relatives, but leaves behind countless friends, readers, and admirers whose lives he touched.

“His passing is an immense loss for Pattaya and for all who had the privilege to know him.”
