Light-heavyweight Lewis Edmondson has withdrawn from Saturday’s fight against Nottingham’s Ezra Taylor due to injury.
British and Commonwealth champion Edmondson suffered a hip injury in the final stages of his training camp that has forced him to pull out of the bout at the O2 Arena in London.
The pair were due to meet and settle a long-standing feud on the undercard of Joseph Parker against Fabio Wardley.
“Minor setback, we’ll be back soon,” Edmondson posted on his instagram story as the news was announced.
“The Saint” – who is from Southampton – won his domestic titles a year ago in London when he beat Dan Azeez by majority decision.
Since then he cruised to a unanimous decision win over Oluwatosin Kejawa in early 2025 before suffering a first career loss in July to Ukrainian Daniel Lapin.
Unbeaten Taylor is still set to fight on Saturday’s bill in London despite the late change in opponent.
The 31-year-old has 12 wins to his name with eight knockouts.
