Simply Red frontman Mick Hucknall has finally broken his silence on claims he bedded 3,000 women during the band’s peak years.
The music legend, 65, previously boasted of having “three lovers a day” throughout their 90s heyday.
The Manchester-born star has enjoyed a string of high-profile romances over the years, including Hollywood actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, former EastEnders favourite Martine McCutcheon and supermodel Helena Christensen.
Back in 2010, he revealed: “Between 1985 and 1987, I would sleep with about three women a day.”
However, the singer has now offered a frank glimpse into his playboy past whilst discussing his marriage to Gabriella Wesberry, confessing he’s baffled by her loyalty, reports the Mirror.

In a new interview, he’s finally tackled the explosive allegations about his wild years – though he stopped short of confirming or denying their accuracy.
“I was a kid in a sweet shop who couldn’t believe his luck,” the vocalist revealed.
He continued: “My poor wife. How she’s stuck with me, I don’t know.”
Hucknall tied the knot with Wesberry in 2010, despite their initial meeting dating back to the 1990s.

When questioned about the MeToo movement and potential concerns regarding his former partners, he dismissed any worries before telling The Sunday Times Magazine: “It was always mutual.
“You want to be attractive and, in my psychology, imposing yourself on someone is the complete opposite of being desired. Somebody desiring you is what makes me tick. Imposing myself on somebody does not make me tick at all.”
Despite the rumours surrounding his past love life, Hucknall has not discussed these matters with his 18-year-old daughter, Romy. “It’s so far in the past,” he stated, emphasising his commitment to his family and marital vows, despite not being religious.

He added he has no intention of being unfaithful and his wife and daughter are aware of this. His strong family values were instilled by his father, Reg, who raised him single-handedly after his mother, Maureen, left when he was just three.
In a previous interview with The Sun in 2023, Mick reflected on his past: “I was just touring the world and being Âsingle, being a playboy, being a bachelor – I didn’t really know what I was doing,’ joking that he was “just having a good time.”
He believes it’s important to have a variety of experiences in life.

As well as counting Catherine Zeta-Jones, with whom he had a brief romance in 1998, as a former flame, Mick also romanced TV personality Ulrika Jonsson, Melanie Sykes, Prince Andrew’s ex-girlfriend Lady Victoria Hervey, and tennis star Steffi Graf.
Meanwhile, Mick’s latest concert film has received a “sexual” content warning – due to his lyrics that explore themes of sex and alcohol.

He had previously been candid about his fondness for drink, as well as experimenting with “every drug”.
Discussing his romantic exploits in the past, Mick confessed: “No, I’m guilty. It’s life’s experience. I think it’s searching for approval. Love me, admire me – something like that.
“In most cases, though, it usually had to do with being drunk. You go into any city centre on a Friday or Saturday night and you see it going on all over the world. There’s nothing particularly unusual about it but because of being famous it gets reported, it gets blown up. Ultimately, it doesn’t make you happy.”
