Nicolas Jackson left Chelsea just before the deadline, now plying his trade in Munich for the German champs.

The arrivals of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap this summer spelled the end of Nicolas Jackson’s time at Stamford Bridge.

The Senegalese striker was almost recalled when the latter went down with a nasty thigh injury at the start of the campaign, but his move to the Bundesliga would not be spoiled.

Now, Jackson has been there for almost two months, and Chelsea fans have been keeping a close eye on their old striker’s form, with many coming to the same conclusion.

Chelsea fans point out Nicolas Jackson’s record at Bayern

It was high time Jackson left Stamford Bridge. He no longer had a defined role under Enzo Maresca, and with the World Cup next year, he would not have wanted to be on the sideline over the coming months.

But he hasn’t hit the ground running at his new club, yet to open his Bundesliga account.

Following Der Klassiker, Chelsea fans have reacted to his slow start.

One fan says: “Didn’t expect him to be really that bad.”

Another agrees: “How can you not score at Bayern where everyone eats.”

Jackson is still officially a Chelsea player, given that he moved to Bayern on loan, but that hasn’t prevented fans of the Blues from heavily criticising.

This fan isn’t surprised Jackson is still goalless, saying: “I knew he wouldn’t succeed there,” while another said on his most recent outing: “Nah, someone please mention one positive thing this guy did in the game.”

Thought we did a mistake for selling him LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

But not all Chelsea fans are so quick to write off their loanee.

As one fan points out: “What kind of a weird diss is this, Jackson has only started in 3 games for Bayern so far you’re acting as if we’re 40 games into the season.”

In the same sentiment: “He is just a back up striker what do you expect?”

A harsh and unhelpful reaction from Chelsea fans

Maybe some fans are forgetting that Jackson is still a Chelsea player. He may have no Bundesliga goals as of yet, but he has played just 185 minutes across his five appearances.

There seems to be some revisionist history going on with Jackson, who scored 24 Premier League goals in two seasons, as well as ten assists as he formed a formidable partnership with Cole Palmer.

Fans were growing tired of that lack of cutting edge, which is fair, but it doesn’t constitute the disrespect Jackson has been on the receiving end of, and not from Bayern fans but from the Chelsea support.

Bayern have seven wins from seven and already look like winning the title. Jackson, in limited minutes, has been involved, even scoring and assisting in the Champions League.

There’s every chance Jackson is back at Stamford Bridge next summer, with Bayern under no obligation to buy unless he reaches a certain threshold of appearances. It’s good for Chelsea, whether keeping or selling, for Jackson to hit a good run of form.

Maybe the discourse should reflect that.
