Jarrell Miller is the frontrunner to face Derek Chisora in his 50th, and supposedly, final fight.

Both parties are in discussions to square off on December 13 in Manchester on a bill headlined by Moses Itauma.

Zhilei Zhang had been considered as a potential opponent for Chisora, but discussions have now shifted to Miller.

Chisora and Miller were slated to headline a bill on February 8.

However, a contractual dispute between Miller and his former promoter, Dmitry Salita, resulted in the fight collapsing.

Instead, Chisora went on to beat Otto Wallin, while Miller saw another fight with Fabio Wardley fall by the wayside in June due to injury.

Miller hasn’t set foot in the ring since his disputed draw with Andy Ruiz Jr in August 2024.

The controversial heavyweight rose to notoriety in 2019 when he failed three pre-fight drug tests ahead of his world title clash with Anthony Joshua.

Another failed test ahead of a bout at the back end of the year against Jerry Forrest resulted in a two-year ban from the sport.

He returned to the ring in 2022, winning three straight fights before suffering the first defeat of his professional career against Daniel Dubois in December 2023.

While Miller is winless in his last two outings, Chisora is in a rich vein of form.

The British fan favourite has revived his career with a trio of wins over Gerald Washington, Joe Joyce and Wallin.

He now finds himself on the verge of a world title shot, with the IBF recently installing him as its mandatory.

Will Derek Chisora’s next fight be his last?

Chisora recently declared that his next fight will be his ‘last dance’, but that seems unlikely with the IBF dangling a golden carrot over his head.

Taking to his Instagram story in September, Chisora said: “We are going back to Manchester on December 13, shutdown.

“Book your hotels, book your restaurants, me and Queensberry are coming to shut it down in Manchester on the 13th of December.

“The opponent will be announced soon. I had one, but the big boss took him.

“I’m currently arguing with the big boss about what he wants.
