Carlos Alcaraz is not content with playing it safe even after the impressive season he has had in 2025.

Alcaraz has won two Grand Slam titles this year, with his victory at the US Open taking his overall total to six majors.

The most recent tournament he played on the ATP Tour was in Tokyo, where Alcaraz won the Japan Open despite physical struggles.

After Alcaraz lost to Jannik Sinner at the Six Kings Slam, he has made plans for what he is going to do differently at the Paris Masters to previous years.

Alcaraz has just three more official tournaments to play in 2025, with the first of those coming at the Paris Masters.

The Paris Masters is the final ATP 1000 tournament of the year, a category of tennis event which Alcaraz has already won three of this year.

Alcaraz has a very impressive ATP 1000 record, but the Paris Masters is one of only three he is yet to win the title at.

The Paris Masters is the only one of these big tournaments that is held on indoor hard courts, and Alcaraz is already making preparations for this.

According to Eurosport Spain, Alcaraz is set to travel to Paris on Wednesday, October 21, in an attempt to adapt better to the conditions.

Carlos Alcaraz’s previous struggles at the Paris Masters

Not only is the Paris Masters one of only three ATP 1000 tournaments that Alcaraz has never won before, but it is also by far his worst in this category.

Having only won five of his nine previous matches at the Paris Masters, Alcaraz has never surpassed the quarterfinals of the tournament.

The only time he did reach the quarterfinals was in 2022, when Alcaraz was forced to retire against Holger Rune due to an abdominal injury.

Last year, Alcaraz lost to Ugo Humbert in the third round and he has only won one match at the Paris Masters since 2022.
