Ange Postecoglou has had quite the year so far.
Entering 2025 with his Tottenham future on the line, the former Celtic boss guided the Lilywhites to a historic Europa League win in Bilbao.
He was rewarded with a sacking by Daniel Levy, having endured a dismal run of league form in order to prioritise the Europa League run.
He wasn’t out of the game for long, though – he was handed the job at Nottingham Forest last month, before sensationally being sacked this week after just eight matches.
What now for Big Ange then? Chris Sutton wants to see him back at Celtic Park.
Chris Sutton on Ange Postecoglou back to Celtic
Postecoglou only spent two years at Celtic Park, but what a two years it was.
Taking over a side which had just been trounced by Rangers points-wise, he oversaw an incredible rebuild and turnaround which culminated in a League Cup and Scottish Premiership double.

Postecoglou hadn’t yet got the results he wanted in Europe when he made the move to North London – so it’s understandable that Hoops fans want to see him back.
And speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live with Robbie Savage, Sutton discussed the possibility of a sensational return.
Savage asked: “Would you like to see Big Ange back at Celtic, Chris?
“It could happen,” Sutton said.
“Would you like to see it?” Sutton was asked.
“I mean, would I like to see him back? Yeah, eventually, why not? I really enjoyed Angeball,” Sutton said.
“How quickly?” Sutton was asked.
“Well, I think Brendan will leave at the end of the season – if [Postecoglou] just slots in next season, I would love to see Big Ange back. He’s respected at Celtic, the job he did. Brilliant, Angeball, what a brand of football,” Sutton said.
Would Ange Postecoglou come back to Celtic?
It’s easy to dismiss the idea of Postecoglou coming back – but few of us believed that Brendan Rodgers would ever return, before he did in 2023.
There are obvious differences with Postecoglou – he has never claimed to be a Celtic fan, so he wouldn’t feel the obligation to return that Rodgers did.
He has also been consistent in his desire for a challenge. If the board aren’t willing to up their recruitment game in order to take the Hoops to the next level, convincing Ange is a non-starter.
But stranger things have happened. If Rodgers doesn’t extend and Postecoglou is still unattached at the end of the season, rumours would inevitably gather pace.
