Kingsley Ibeh fancies his chances against Anthony Joshua.

Joshua has been out of action since 2024, when Daniel Dubois knocked him out in devastating fashion.

He was anticipated to be making a return to the ring over the summer, but faced delays due to needing surgery on a lingering elbow injury.

As the 35-year-old prepares to lace up his gloves once again, Joshua’s team has received offers for him to fight in Africa.

Martin Bakole and Efe Ajagba appear to be leading the talks, but despite that, Ibeh sees this as his chance for a bout on the continent with Joshua.

He told Sky Sports: “We need the right platform and the right opponent to make a statement with and there’d be no better one than AJ.

“That would be definitely a dream come true. That would be amazing.

“It doesn’t matter where it is, I’m ready.

“Anywhere. It doesn’t matter if it’s in the UK. I would love to dance with him in the O2 Arena.

“I would definitely stop him, no questions about that; it’s going to come down to how soon or how quickly it goes.”

Ibeh even extended his call-out to Britain’s other heavyweight contenders: “I’m willing to come to their home, their backyard and entertain.

“I like AJ, he’s been my idol.

“[But] I have mean intentions. For the sport, I would love to give him the work and challenge that he’s looking for.”

What is Anthony Joshua’s likely next move?

It seems that Joshua and his team are looking at stadium shows for him in February, although an exact date has not yet been penciled in.

That being said, he could still fight this year, and he certainly has a long list of opponents to choose from.

His promoter, Eddie Hearn, revealed that there is a possibility of Joshua appearing on an undercard in a ‘run-out’ bout, which would remove the pressure of headlining.

The last time that Joshua wasn’t the main event was back in 2015, when he knocked out Kevin Johnson on the undercard of Kell Brook vs Frankie Gavin.

But this could be the perfect way for him to gear up to clash with the biggest names in the division, having been out of action for 13 months.
