		The relatives reflect (Picture: ITV)
It’s been almost nine months since the huge limo crash in Emmerdale, and emotions are still as raw as the day Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) fell through the ice.
Amy, Suzy, and Leyla lost their lives after Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) lost control of the limo they were all in and it plunged through the icy lake. Suzy died immediately, while Leyla died in the sinking car of a glass stab wound, and after falling through the ice, Amy died in hospital from hypothermia.
Their loved ones have still not come to terms with the trauma of that day, but as they’ve mostly tried to block it out, some fresh news will reopen the wound.
Kerry (Laura Norton) and Matty (Ash Palmisciano) are blindsided as the coroner’s report is finally released. It’s a hugely emotional moment for them both, a massive setback in their grief journey.

Matty is particularly shattered by the results, and Kerry makes the decision to ignore boss Jai’s (Chris Bisson) frantic calls in favour of supporting her broken son-in-law.
To raise Matty’s spirits, she challenges him to a drinking game, only for Jai to walk in and witness what seems like blatant frivolities while shirking her work responsibilities.
Without realising the context of her mourning her daughter, in one swift move, he fires her.
Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant) also finds the day tough, remembering his mum with the full report of what happened that day. It’s been a difficult year for the doctor-in-training as he faces fatherhood without the guidance of his own mother.

He and Matty lament on their loss, while they share concerns for Kerry. She’s lost her daughter and her income in the space of a few months, thanks to Mr no-empathy Jai.
Kerry has someone fighting her corner at least as Caleb Miligan (William Ash) is disgusted at Jai’s spur-of-the-moment decision to sack Kerry. He belittles Jai into apologising to Kerry, who revels in his shame.
Karma gets her though as while at the depot, where Jai makes it clear he plans to make her life hell, she quits in a fury and wrenches the door to leave.
But the handle breaks off in her hand and she’s left trapped with Jai. What will happen between them in this forced time out?
