Kevin Sorbo claims Hollywood is shifting its values after growing sick of losing money on ‘woke‘ films.
The self-proclaimed ‘first cancel culture victim’ revealed that studios are now reaching out to him, after years of being rejected over his conservative Christian values.
The actor, 66, rose to international fame as the Greek demigod Hercules in the hit show ‘Hercules: The Legendary Journeys,’ which ran for six seasons from 1995 to 1999.
Sorbo said that he sees a shift happening within the movie industry under president Donald Trump, in a new interview with Fox News Digital.
‘I think people are tired of it, and Hollywood’s tired of losing money, like they’re going to lose another $300 million on this woke Disney movie with “Snow White.”‘
‘I think the American people are fed up, and I think they showed it in the last election as well. They said enough is enough of this stuff.’

‘So I just think it’s just the pendulum swinging back and forth, right? And I think we’re going back to the right side now, and I’m a believer in going right and then left,’ he said.
Sorbo explained that he is ‘the first cancel culture victim before I knew it was a term.’
‘Hollywood booted me up a dozen years ago for things I was posting on the internet,’ he went on.
‘And I looked at my age and I said, “Oh, you guys are upset that I’m posting the truth? Is that a problem with you guys?” Because they hate the truth, and they hate anybody who’s a Christian in Hollywood, anybody who is a conservative. So I’m like a double leper to them. I’m, like, kryptonite or something,’ the actor claimed.
He explained that he and his wife decided to create Sorbo Studios, and he has been filming at least four movies a year since stepping away from mainstream Hollywood.
The actor then shared that he believes there’s been a ‘shift’ with Trump in the office.
‘People will hate him in front, but those people that hate him, they’re gonna see their lives get better. Trust me.’
He also claimed studios have been reaching out to him recently.
‘Hollywood is shifting a little bit because I’m starting to get calls from the studios saying, “Hey, there’s a big thing with this stuff. So maybe send us a couple of scripts.”‘
Sorbo went on to say that he’s reached out to Netflix and Amazon with a number of scripts ‘that aren’t in your face about faith, but the messages are there.’
Sorbo’s 2010 film ‘What If…’ is set to be re-released for its 15th anniversary on August 5 and 7.
The film centers on Ben Walker (Sorbo), a businessman who had lost his faith, who wakes up to a different reality: married to his college sweetheart (Kristy Swanson) and working as a small-town pastor.

Sorbo said that it’s the type of movie ‘Hollywood used to put out there’, featuring themes of ‘hope and love and laughter and redemption and faith.’
‘Hollywood used to do a lot of these kinds of movies. And I think they’re waking up a little bit now because they’re losing a lot of money on this woke insanity. So let’s see what happens with it.’
Recent productions such as Disney’s Snow White and James Gunn’s new Superman film have drawn criticism and ignited discussions about their perceived ‘woke’ themes.
The live-action remake of Snow White suffered at the box office and and faced criticism of being ‘woke.’
Star Rachel Zegler, 23, took the brunt of the blame for the film underperforming its massive budget – grossing just $69million domestically – and becoming one of the least liked films of all time on film review sites.
She’s also been dinged for her political opinions and was harshly criticized by the son of the producer of the movie for tweeting ‘free Palestine.’
Meanwhile the new Superman movie has been met with a sea of just two star reviews as critics are unconvinced of the first foray into the newly-branded DC Universe.
The new film – directed by James Gunn and starring David Corenswet as the fictional superhero, with Rachel Brosnahan as precocious reporter Lois Lane – was released July 11.
Many were skeptical of the film – the third new Superman reboot in just under two decades, following Brandon Routh in 2006’s Superman Returns and Henry Cavill in 2013’s Man of Steel and 2017’s Justice League.
And now the reviews are out it seems they were right to be skeptical as it has failed to impress most critics.
It comes as Gunn has garnered controversy ahead of the film’s widespread release, likening the Man of Steel to an immigrant.

It’s not the first time Sorbo has expressed a controversial opinion in regards to Hollywood.
In 2023, he branded Hollywood men ‘bumbling, useless idiots’ with a ‘misunderstanding of masculinity’ and branded the current fondness for androgyny in fashion ‘the masculinity crisis’.
In recent years, Sorbo has been a keen purveyor of Christian beliefs and conservative opinions – something he alleges has led to his ‘cancellation’.
The native Minnesotan previously claimed he and his agent had parted ways after the Andromeda star was ‘blacklisted.’
