Auditions to select the participants in the Luxembourg Song Contest 2026 will take place this Friday and Saturday.

The Luxembourgish broadcaster RTL has confirmed on social media that auditions will take place this week for the Luxembourg Song Contest 2026. The singers will perform for an international expert jury that will determine the singers who will compete in the final of the Luxembourgish selection.

The third edition of the Luxembourg Song Contest will take place on January 24 in Rockhal in Esch-sur-Alzette, according to a press statement released by the broadcaster. The live final will see several acts compete to represent Luxembourg at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Austria.

Laura Thorn represented Luxembourg at Eurovision 2025 with “La poupée monte le son”. She finished 22nd with 47 points. This is the worst result of the country since its comeback in 2024, when Luxembourg came 13th with Tali and “Fighter”.

Luxembourg was one of seven countries to take part in the first Eurovision Song Contest in 1956. Luxembourg participated in the contest 37 times before withdrawing from the contest after 1993. During these 37 years, they won the contest five times. The last of these victories came in 1983. Luxembourg came close to returning to the contest in 2004, but opted against it due to the financial cost of participating. They eventually returned in 2024, after an absence of 31 years.
