Into late October there aren’t many riders with great potential left in the market, which has been ongoing for almost three months at this point. However today Unibet Tietema Rockets – who are changing names towards Unibet Rose Rockets – have announced the signing of Jannis Peter, a climber who recently beat none other than young World Tour climbers Cian Uijtdebroeks and William Lecerf Junior.

The 24-year old German rider has been racing professionally since 2019 but in these six years of racing, he has always been at continental level and seemingly an undiscovered diamond in the rough. He did not have many results until this year, but 2025 was a strong team for the Team Voralberg rider.

He is part of an Austrian team, which naturally gives him access to many mountainous races, and this year he made them pay off. He was the winner of the final stage and finished second at the Oberösterreich Rundfahrt and later on finished 9th at the Tour of Austria, in the middle of a Top11 that was otherwise packed with nothing but World Tour riders and was won by none other than Isaac del Toro.

However he really had a breakthrough at the Czech Tour, where he continued to display good talent but this time around in a televised event, he managed to win the queen stage. The arrival at Pustevny saw Cian Uijtdebroeks attack in order to try and win the overall classification over race leader William Junior Lecerf – who later went on to almost finish in the Top10 of the Vuelta a España. The two battled it out and in the final sprint, it was Peter who came out on top, directly beating the two World Tour riders. His prowess did not come unnoticed and at agw 24 he is still certainly within the age of progression, giving the Dutch team more firepower to perform in 2026 as they seek out more evolution and a potential Tour de France wildcard.
