Liverpool managed to get the victory but things might have been a little tense in the dressing room after the game.
The Reds responded well to their poor run of form with a 5-1 battering of German side Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League, meaning they have six points from a possible nine.
Things could not really have gone much better for Liverpool and Arne Slot, with the Dutchman’s changes proving to be beneficial.

One of these was moving Florian Wirtz to the right, with the German having his best game in a Liverpool shirt to date, picking up two assists in the process.
However, it could have been even better for the 22-year-old as he could have scored as well, although the reason he did not will have given Sadio Mane flashbacks.

Mohamed Salah was clearly frustrated to start on the bench for Liverpool once again, with his performance when coming on proving just that.
He got just 15 minutes to try and impress and even managed to have three shots during that time, although this was mainly due to selfishness.
In the 90th minute with the game already wrapped up, Salah found himself with a good opportunity to go for goal but the angle was very tight.
Wirtz was also free in the middle and screaming for the ball, but instead, the Egyptian produced a tame shot that did not trouble the goalkeeper.
Salah really should have passed in this situation, but perhaps his ego got in the way, something that cannot happen, especially as this is not the first time.
A similar situation happened back in 2019 with Mane against Burnley, with the Senegalese forward visibly fuming at Salah for not passing to him despite having a tap-in if he did.

Mane and Salah certainly did not have the best of relationships, although they remained professional, however when he had the chance to pass to someone like Wirtz who has not yet scored, it does not exactly look good on the Egyptian.
Jamie Carragher thinks Florian Wirtz will be disappointed despite getting two assists
Wirtz certainly had his best game since joining Liverpool and looked like he enjoyed the freedom of playing off the right.
However, getting a goal would have been the icing on the cake, with Jamie Carragher believing that German will be a little disappointed in his teammate.
“The big thing really was Florian Wirtz getting his first assist. There will be more assists to come and better assists than that,” he told CBS.
“Yeah, it’s nice for Wirtz, what he was brought in to do was to create goals and score goals and the only disappointment was that he never scored tonight, and he should have scored if Mo Salah passed to him at the end of the game, which he should have done.”
