A man has been left in ‘critical condition’ after he was found with ‘multiple stab wounds’ following a crash on a street in Manchester.

Emergency services raced to Cardinal Street, Cheetham Hill, after receiving reports of a disturbance in the area at around 2.25pm on Thursday (October 23).

According to an eye witness, an air ambulance also attended the scene and a vehicle could be seen flipped onto its roof with police tape around it.

Greater Manchester Police say officers who attended the incident found a man with multiple stab wounds in what has been described as ‘targeted attack’.

The Manchester Evening News understands that the victim was involved in a car chase that resulted in the overturned car. It is also believed that he was attacked after the collision.

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing. Officers say there is no wider threat to the public.

A GMP spokesperson said: “At around 2.25pm on Thursday 23 October 2025, officers were called to reports of a disturbance in the Cardinal Street area of Cheetham Hill.

“Officers attended and discovered a male with multiple stab wounds. The male has been taken to hospital in a critical condition.

“No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing into the full circumstances of the incident however officers believe this is a targeted attack and there is no wider threat to the community.”
