A young actor has landed the role of a lifetime, joining an all-star cast as Luna Lovegood in a new audio adaptation of the Harry Potter series.
Millie Gubby, who grew up in Tiverton, will voice the fan-favourite character in Audible’s upcoming full-cast retelling of the wizarding world, which features big names including Bill Nighy, Keira Knightley, Hugh Laurie and Ruth Wilson. The first instalment of the series is due for release on Monday, November 4.
Before being cast as the quirky Ravenclaw student, Millie honed her performance skills in a number of local theatre groups, including the Willow Tree Theatre Company and the Tiverton Amateur Operatic Society. She is also a former pupil of Uffculme School.
Millie later attended Queen’s College in Taunton, where she quickly became a standout figure within the school’s Performing Arts Department. She took on leading roles in productions such as Les Misérables and Animal Farm , and inspired younger students through her dedication and stage presence.
Her casting as Luna Lovegood marks a major professional breakthrough, especially as she chose to skip drama school and step directly into the industry after leaving Queen’s in 2024.
