Alongside the first wave of Season 1 content, it’s heavily speculated the Battle Royale mode for Battlefield 6 will release on 28th October too, in a shadow drop launch.
The mode was teased during the game’s big reveal event, but a date was never attached to its release. There have been murmurs for weeks now that it’ll come alongside the start of Season 1, and now Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming has reported the following on social media:
“I can now independently verify that Battlefield 6 Battle Royale is indeed planned to shadowdrop on October 28th.” This follows previous reports of other leakers datamining the Battlefield 6 client to find strings of code tying the Battle Royale mode to a release on Tuesday.

Until the shadow drop officially happens, what we do know is Battlefield 6 will be expanded for free in Season 1 with multiple content drops every month through until December. On 28th October, there’s a new multiplayer map and an additional mode to play, alongside more weapons, attachments, and an extra vehicle. With a Battle Royale mode seemingly to go alongside it, this sounds like a substantial update for the recent PS5 release.
