Cruz Beckham may have to brace himself for a potentially awkward conversation with his famous parents after releasing his rather explicit new single, Optics.
Posh and Becks might need to turn a blind eye to their youngest son’s forthcoming album, as he set the tone with a double single release on Friday.
In an unexpected twist, the 20 year old’s raunchy new single Optics revolves around drugs and sex, amid his relationship with Jackie Apostel, 30, who is a decade older than him and collaborated on the album and album cover with Cruz.
He says in the track: “Take a thousand selfies in your bed while I trip in mine / I love me some mushrooms and good head and an erotic 69”.

The chorus echoes: “Stay high fashion, no comedown, no crashing but you wanna know how it looks, I wanna know how it feels”. His second single release Lick The Toad opts for less provocative lyrics, instead focusing his song on ‘mother nature’.
“Let me take a lick of you mother nature, imma take a lick. Let me take a hit of you mother nature, imma take a hit”, he sings in the chorus.
Since launching his music career in somewhat shabby music venues, Cruz has certainly added a touch of authenticity to his musical debut. The privileged youngster has also sought assistance from The Kooks frontman Luke Pritchard, who has bolstered Cruz’s offering by aiding him with songwriting.
His track list on the new album includes the songs Waste Your Pain, Optics, John Lennon, Tie Don’t Fit, For Your Love, Yeah Yeah Yeah and, naturally, Lick The Toad.
It has been a long time coming. Cruz first gra ced the music scene with his debut single, If Every Day Was Christmas, back in 2016, with all proceeds going to charity.
Then, last December, he dropped his single For Ya Love, which some fans boldly claimed was ‘better than Oasis’.
The young star has been gearing up for his imminent release with a string of intimate gigs, including a performance at East London’s iconic The George Tavern. On a small wooden stage, Cruz and his band belted out a selection of his new tunes, including Optics, Caroline, For Your Love, and Lick The Toad.
Addressing the crowd, he said: “This is really special for me. I just want to thank everyone for being here tonight.”
An industry insider who attended the gig shared: “Cruz was a little nervous, but once he got going, the crowd went wild for him. He’s clearly spent the summer listening to Oasis. He’s got a decent voice, can play the guitar, and his songs are certainly catchy.”
Drawing comparisons to noughties bands like The Kooks and the Kaiser Chiefs, they added: “I would describe his style as catchy indie landfill.”
Despite none of his famous family members catching Cruz’s debut performance, insiders have insisted that the young singer wants to make his own way in the industry without leaning on his family ties.
However, his girlfriend was spotted among the audience and confessed to her social media followers that she shed tears when her boyfriend started performing.
“Safe to say I did not keep it together,” she admitted. After his gig, the model took to Instagram and wrote: “Unannounced, just working on his craft, doing his little thing, having fun, learning, preparing, all HIS songs made by HIM played by HIM sang by HIM, absolutely smashing it, I love you.”
