Birmingham City boss Chris Davies says they did not make the most of their possession against Bristol City as they slipped to defeat.

Sinclair Armstrong’s goal was enough to secure all three points for the Robins to leave Blues with just one win in their last five league games.

Blues had the majority of the possession in the Championship clash but registered just one shot on target in the 90 minutes.

And Davies said: “It’s a game that really got away from us.

“I felt we would have some of the ball today but probably not as much as we ended up having. We just didn’t do enough with it to create the clear openings and the chances that we needed to.

“In some ways it felt like we were the home team but the danger was always the counter-attack, a fast break and we didn’t suffer many of them at all.

“That one goal was the big one.

“They broke away and scored it. It’s something we have been working on and paying attention to, stopping those counter-attacks from this team, but we couldn’t do it.”

Blues fans have had their say about the performance on social media, and here’s what they had to say about the defeat.

Chris P Bacon: “Same old again Chris. No one takes a risk. There’s some serious talent in the squad that are more than capable at this level. On a tactical level it’s failing. One shot on target again against dreadful opposition.”

Stu: “11 outfield signings in the summer and only 3 started today. Squad has the same problems as last year. Lacking creativity. No LB cover, athleticism in midfield, combined with signing 5ft 10 CB’s for this league, I am really not convinced the data-driven transfers are working.”

Linda Goodman: “Only took him 12 matches to realise that. How long is it before he realises that all the data, stats, and possession aren’t going to score goals or win matches?”

PunkRockWarlord: “We haven’t done that all season. It shouldn’t be a surprise!! I like CD but he has to start throwing players forward and stop side-to-side football.”

Pedro_BCFC: “I feel the majority of us want this to work for CD but if he doesn’t change the style then it’s only a matter of time.”

Angelo_Papa: “Same every game CD, what are we doing in training! Sort it out before the owner’s patience runs out.”

Satch: “We are currently “Boringham City FC”
