The affordable smartwatch adds a customizable button and boasts up to 24 days of battery life
Xiaomi has unveiled the Redmi Watch 6 in China, the latest iteration of its popular budget-friendly smartwatch line.
The watch features several notable refinements, including a slimmer design, a brighter display, and improved GPS, all while maintaining an aggressive price point of CNY 599 (approximately $84).
At first glance, the Watch 6 retains the familiar Apple Watch-inspired square design, but Xiaomi has introduced some key tweaks.
Improvements across the board
The new ‘sub-key’ button below the digital crown adds quick access to specific features or apps, allowing users to customize it for their needs. Additionally, the chassis is significantly slimmer than its predecessor, 9.9mm from 11.3mm on the Redmi Watch 5.
While the large 2.07-inch AMOLED display size remains the same, Xiaomi has boosted the peak brightness from 1,500 nits to 2,000 nits, improving outdoor visibility.

Xiaomi claims the 550mAh battery capacity remains the same as the Watch 5, yet promises impressive longevity with up to 24 days of typical use on a single charge.
The watch runs on Xiaomi’s latest HyperOS 3, which supports various apps (though not as full an experience as you’ll find on the likes of Wear OS) and features an improved GNSS positioning system for more accurate outdoor activity tracking.
Core health and fitness features remain robust for the price, including 150+ sports modes, all-day heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, stress monitoring, and a 5 ATM water resistance rating suitable for swimming.
When could the Watch 6 go global?
While the Redmi Watch 6 is currently only available in China, Xiaomi typically brings its Redmi watches to the global market a few months after their domestic debut.
If that pattern holds, expect the Watch 6 to arrive internationally early next year, likely positioning itself as a strong contender for one of the best-value smartwatches under $100.
