Wrexham are trying to punch above their weight (slightly) and have approached Christian Eriksen over a potential move.
The Dane is a free agent having left Manchester United at the start of the summer and was impressed by their proposal.
However, Wrexham are in the Championship and are seeking a fourth successive promotion having swept through the lower leagues under the ownership of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
Eriksen hopes to remain at the top level of football whether that is in the Premier League or at one of the top leagues in Europe.

Eddie Howe confident Alexander Isak will stay at Newcastle
Newcastle manager Eddie Howe excused Alexander Isak from travelling to their friendly with Celtic to shield him from transfer speculation but is confident the striker will remain at St James’s Park.
“Alex has trained this week and is fine but we didn’t want to take the risk with him. Alex was with us all the way through Austria but, with all the speculation and things that are going on, I decided to send him home.
“It’s purely the last thing Alex wants, if he’s not playing, to be sat in the stand. Being under that scrutiny, I don’t think that’s fair to the player.
“It’s difficult for me to give 100 per cent clarity on any player. I’d never sit here and do that because it’s football and you never know what could happen.
“All I can say is that Alex is happy at Newcastle. He loves the players that he plays with, the staff, the team.”

Forest would prefer to sell to Spurs’ rivals
Nottingham Forest have been irritated with Tottenham’s approach for Morgan Gibbs-White and would prefer to sell to a rival club, reports the Daily Mail.
Spurs had activated a £60m release clause in the player’s contract but Forest believed the approach to be illegal and were considering legal action, though it is unknown if this is still the case.
Man City had previously been keen on Gibbs-White, though that potential deal has gone cold with City instead signing Rayan Cherki from Lyon.
